Supporting your Wellness Journey...
Foot or Hand Reflexology
Service Description
What is Reflexology? Reflexology is a natural (non-invasive) therapy that works on the whole body and can help many kinds of health conditions. It works alongside conventional medicine practice (where possible), with the aim of improving the overall health of the client both emotionally and physically. Reflexology points (reflexes) and zones on the feet or hands correspond to the body’s organs and systems. Using a specific massage method with the thumbs and fingers, the reflexes are stimulated through the nerve ending located in the feet and hands . Imbalances can be detected and addressed to help bring balance in the corresponding parts of the body and as such, support the mind and body to naturally heal or work as well as it can. What to expect during the treatment? I will ask for a medical and lifestyle history, and we will discuss your health concerns and expectations. After the consultation, you'll be made comfortable, either seated or reclining. You'll stay fully dressed, except for the removal of shoes and socks when working on the feet. Your feet/hands will be cleansed, a specialised talcum powder applied, followed by a gentle massage with relaxation breathing techniques. Pressure will then be applied to specific reflex points on the feet/hands using my fingers and thumbs, with focus on areas related to your health concern and any imbalances detected. Clients may feel tenderness, sensitivity, grittiness, dull sensations, or pressure awareness, which indicates areas of imbalance or congestion in the body. Clients often report experiencing profound relaxation and may feel either sleepy or rejuvenated. Responses to treatment are unique to each individual and can vary over time. Ultimately, you will depart with an overall sense of wellbeing. Reflexology Benefits? Reflexology may assist many health concerns, including skin and digestive disorders, respiratory and sleep disorders, relieve symptoms of hormonal imbalances and menopause, and support the journey to parenthood, amongst many others. This therapy may help alleviate stress both emotionally and physically. As tension eases, improvement in mood, sleep quality, and overall well-being are often reported.
